Since Transformers comes out tomorrow and it is Botcon this weekend I figured it was appropriate to post some Transformers news. The first one which I am really excited about is Hasbro is releasing Masterpiece Starscream which originally first came out in Japan last year. The main difference though is this version is in cartoon accurate colors where the original release was a turquoise color. He is going to be a Wal-Mart exclusive and retail for $59.99. I’m sure it will drop in price like the Optimus Prime figure did. New pictures have shown up showing that they will be packaged in boxes similar to the originals. I am probably going to pass on all of these since I already have them from when they were reissued a few years ago, but it gives me hope that the reissues aren’t dead and more will come. The last reissue before these was almost a year and a half ago, so things weren’t looking good on that front. Anyone interested they can be pre-ordered at http://www.tfsource.com/reissues.html That site has some of the best prices for them especially since they are being imported from Japan. Get them while you can. The last reissues of these figures shot up to over $100 a piece after they were sold out. Can’t wait for the movie tomorrow. I think I will pass some time by watching the original 1986 movie again.
