Today my applecare warranty came that I bought on ebay. I went to register it on their website and it said they couldn\’t validate my iMac and gave me a 1-800 number to call. I was thinking oh great. Anyway I called Apple and spoke with a nice American (one of the reasons why I don\’t mind calling Apple support) she took my iMac serial number and the Applecare number. She also asked me what my date of purchase was, so I gave her the date of October 10 last year which is the date on my receipt. She then informed me it was registered and everything went through okay. After the call I went to Apple\’s website and they updated my warranty date to October 10th. The funny thing is that the original date on the warranty was August 14th. My iMac is a display model and I before I bought it I checked the warranty date. That was an excuse I used to get another $50 off the purchase price. So now I get the actual first 1 year warranty from the date of purchase that I should have had in the first place. All I can say is the few times I have had to call Apple support it has always been a good experience and this is another one to add to the list.
