iphonealley.com reports “We were all sad to see PhoneSaber get pulled from the App Store due to copyright claims by mobile Star Wars rights holder THQ Wireless, but THQ announced today that it will be coming back soon. They will be re-launching PhoneSaber under the name PhoneSaber “Unleashed” and will coincide with the launch of the console game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
As glad as we are to see it coming back, it is a little disappointing that its coming back as a promotional stunt, and lacks some of that indy-coolness that free apps from small developers tend to have. Fortunately, THQ is still offering it for free, and it will include the real sound effects and music from the movies.”
Sounds like good news to me. Hopefully it hasn’t been commercialized too much since the original is nice and slick the way it is. I’m glad it is staying free.
