Apple has just sent out invites to the media for a special event on October 14th. There has been a lot of speculation about what is going to happen. One of those rumors is moving the Macbook to an aluminum design so it matches the rest of the family of notebooks. Another is a newer design for the Macbook Pro since it is still based on the older Powerbook design. Finally, the last rumor is that the new models will start at $800 which will put them closer in competition with some of the PC laptops out there. I guess we’ll find out next Tuesday. I already upgraded this year, so I won’t be jumping to the new model, but it will be interesting to see what Apple has in store.
