Hot on the heels of the iPad release, Apple has sent out invites for an event this Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Pacific. This event will be a preview of the iPhone Operating System that will most likely come out this summer. These events are mainly for developers to get an idea of what features will be coming to the iPhone and they also get the new Software Development Kit, so they can update their apps to be compatible with the new software when it comes out to the general public. It will be interesting to see what new features are included. The big one that everyone is banking on is some kind of multitasking feature, so a user can specify certain apps to run in the background instead of just the apple supplied ones. This would also mean multitasking coming to the iPad as it runs the same Operating System as the iPhone and is one of the biggest gripes right now about the iPad. I’m sure there will be some other new things and it will be interesting to see what Apple has up its sleeve.
